The Twentsche Kabelfabriek (TKF) produces medium and high voltage cables for offshore wind farms. These cables cover very long distances and require specific jointing to connect multiple pieces of cable. These joints are highly complex structures that must be watertight and corrosion resistant, and in which every layer of the joint is applied separately. The aim of the GLUPE project is to improve the jointing process by gluing the separate ends of cable sections together.
